The Schools Water Efficiency Program (SWEP) has been announced as a finalist in the United Nations Association of Australia World Environment Day Awards 2014, in the Excellence in Sustainable Water Management Award.
The awards mark World Environment Day on 5 June and celebrate the innovative and outstanding environmental programs and initiatives across Australia, as well as the critical work of environmental leaders.
The Excellence in Sustainable Water Management category comprises initiatives that have taken active steps to develop and implement strategies and infrastructure taking advantage of the potential of water recycling, conservation and management for sustainable urban, industrial and agricultural growth.
SWEP has identified and saved participating Victorian schools more than 660 million litres of potable water that would have cost more than $1.860m over the last two and a half years through the early identification and repair of leaks and faulty appliances.
Select Solutions is proud to be part of SWEP and we wish the team the very best of luck when the winners are announced on Friday 13 June.
