The Schools Water Efficiency Program (SWEP) in Victoria has now moved into Phase 2. Since its beginning in March 2012, the program and 1,700 participating schools have saved more than 2.411 gigalitres of water, according to Ernst and Young. The associated cost of the water that would have been wasted has been estimated at more than $6.8 million, which was able to be invested in the education system instead.

Select Solutions is proud of our association with SWEP. We provide the electricity meter and digital water meter services for the program that allow daily interval meter data from the 3G data loggers to be monitored and assessed.

In 2012, SWEP won the Program Innovation Award at the Victorian Water Awards and in 2014, they were announced as the winner of the Excellence in Sustainable Water Management Award from the United Nations Association of Australia as part of their World Environment Day Awards, which celebrate innovative and outstanding environmental programs and initiatives across Australia, as well as the critical work of environmental leaders.

We congratulate the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning and the Department of Education on the outstanding and ongoing results achieved by SWEP.
